Hoods for wooden windows are used m.in. to protect the window from water in its inseaudage. Due to their varied colours, these elements also affect the aesthetics of the joinery. Accessories from the MS Window and Door range come in numerous color variants, so you can adjust them to the appearance of the design.
Hoods for wooden windows – what is their function?
Among the most important functions of the eaves in wooden windows are:
- discharge of rainwater from the plane of the window;
- protection against water in the construction of the window, as well as into the room;
- protection of the coating against UV rays in places where it is most exposed to adverse weather conditions;
- protection of the window against cracking and flaking of the coating;
- ensuring the alignment of pressures between the door frame and the sash;
- sealing the contact of wood with aluminum eaves in front of the water flowing down the window plane, as well as preventing it from entering the surface of the profile made of wood, which is sensitive to water. This function is carried out by the gasket.
In addition to the standard aluminium hoods, MS Windows and Doors offer options with a wooden wing hood (for SLIM windows and Classic, Modern, Art and Old product lines), as well as a wooden cap for aluminum hood. The following graphic shows the options and standard color versions of the hoods. On individual request, the hood can be made in a shade chosen by the customer.
Additional hood – optional solution
Ms Windows and Doors also includes optional eaves for wooden windows. An additional aluminium hood is mounted on the glass screen( rim). It protects the coating from UV rays in places where adverse weather conditions affect it the most. In addition, this element protects the windows from cracking and flaking of the said coating. Its use allows you to maintain the impeccable appearance of the joinery for a long time. In the graphic below there are standard color versions of additional hoods in the windows from the offer of MS Windows and Doors. At individual request, the hood can be made in the color chosen by the customer.
