In PVC windows, hinges ensure safety in the first place. In addition, they affect the aesthetic qualities of the structure and the utility aspect. MS products are equipped with more load-bearing window hinges than typical windows than windows.

The hinges in PVC, wooden and aluminium windows consist of two parts. One of them is screwed to the wing, while the other is attached to the frame. Hinges can be divided into four groups:

The weight of 1 m2 panes of glass, which is 4 mm thick, is 10 kg. In the case of a three-tube cartridge used in a balcony window measuring 2.5 x 1 m, the weight of the package itself shall be approximately equal to 75 kg. When the weight of the sheathed sash is added to it, a value close to the strength limit of the standard hinges, the load capacity of which is 100 kg, is achieved. On the other hand, when glued laminated or anti-burglary glass, the weight of 100 kg will be exceeded for windows of smaller dimensions.
Hinges in windows with offers in MS more than WINDOWS
Due to the need to ensure proper safety design, MS products more than WINDOWS are equipped with hinges with a load capacity of 120 kg as standard. Compared to typical hinges, they have a different design. The retaining supposit factors of the “heavy” hinges are 7 mm in diameter (instead of 3 mm). Moreover, their length is 23 mm (instead of 3 mm). Thanks to this, they pass through all the walls of the wing profiles and the frame. This causes the hinges to be firmer embedded in the PVC profiles. Therefore, they may be more burdened, compared to standard devices, with proper safety. In PVC windows available in MS more than WINDOWS products are standard as open-tilting. This means that all single-leaf windows, as well as multi-leaf windows with fixed posts, always have the function of reassuring and tilting.
Hinges for Siegenia windows
The above-mentioned elements of the eyediers are found in MSline windows. Siegenia hinges are used in products made of 76 or 82 mm profiles. Compared to Maco components, they have an even higher load capacity – as much as 130 kg. Thanks to this, they enable the safe operation of high-weight windows.
