Gaskets are used to protect the room from dust, water and noise. The standard in PVC windows is the installation of two sealing elements. In most window systems, offered by MS more than WINDOWS, there is a third middle seal, which favorably affects the m.in. thermal insulation of the structure.
Seals in PVC profiles ? where are they located?
Pvc profiles come with two gaskets as standard. One of them is located on the wing and the other on the frame. This gasket system is abbreviated as “AD”. An optional solution is a third center seal. It is placed in the notch, that is, the free space between the wing and the frame. Window systems in which this element is present are abbreviated as “MD”.
Effect of the additional seal on window parameters
The third center seal is designed to improve the thermal insulation properties of the wing-frame system. Moreover, this component ensures greater tightness of the structure. It is also worth mentioning the better sound insulation. An additional gasket prevents dirt, dust and insects from entering the drainage holes inside the frame. It also isolates the boundary heigers from the part of the notch where the drainage holes are located. Due to the fact that the chule is separated from the damp space, they can work in dry conditions. As a result, they are not exposed to rust and dirt.
